What we do with the information you send us, why we hold it, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do about it.

Who we are
This website is operated by Tri-Dev Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 01309982, whose registered office is at Loomer Road, Chesterton, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, ST5 7LB.
For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. You can reach us on 01782 561526 or at craig@tridev.co.uk.
What we collect
This website does not collect personal information. There is no form on it and nothing on it asks you for your details. The contact page lists our telephone number and email address, and getting in touch is something you do in your own email or telephone software, not on this website.
When you do contact us that way we hold what you send us — typically your name, your company, your contact details, the location of the job, a description of what you need, and any drawing or photograph you attach to an email.
We also receive the technical information any web server receives when a page is requested, such as your IP address and browser type. Our hosting provider records this to deliver the website and to protect it from abuse. We do not use it to identify you.
If you telephone or email us instead, we hold whatever you tell us in the course of that conversation.
Why we hold it, and on what basis
We use the information you send us to answer your enquiry: to understand what you need, to prepare a price, and to carry out the work if you decide to go ahead. We do not use it for anything else.
Where you have asked us for a price or approached us about work, our lawful basis is that the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, or to perform that contract once it is agreed. Where you have contacted us with a general question, our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who get in touch with our business. Where we have to keep records for accounting or health and safety reasons, our lawful basis is compliance with a legal obligation.
We will not add you to a marketing list because you sent an enquiry, and we do not send marketing email.
Who else sees it
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
Our email is handled by our email provider, which processes it on our instructions. Beyond that, we share information only where a job requires it — for example with an engineer, a galvaniser or a delivery contractor working on your project — or where we are required to share it by law.
Some of these providers operate outside the UK. Where personal information is transferred abroad it is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision covering the country concerned.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for up to two years, so that we can pick up the thread if you come back to us, and then deleted.
Where an enquiry becomes a job, we keep the project record for as long as we may need it — which for fabricated structural steelwork means a long time, because questions about what was made, to what specification and to what standard can arise many years later. Accounting records are kept for six years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as the Companies Act requires.
Cookies
This website does not set any cookies. It carries no analytics, no advertising tags and no social media tracking pixels, and nothing on it profiles you or follows you to other websites.
The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests those font files from Google's servers and Google receives your IP address in order to serve them. No cookie is set by that request.
If we add analytics in future we will update this notice first, and we will not use anything that requires your consent without asking for it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, and in some circumstances to have it deleted or its use restricted. You can object to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests, and you can ask us to provide certain information in a portable form.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at craig@tridev.co.uk or on 01782 561526. We will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you raised it with us first so we have the chance to put it right.
Changes to this notice
This notice was last updated on 20 August 2026. If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page, and the date above will change with it.
