FAQs

Everything we get asked most

Grouped roughly from “what do you make” through to “how do I get a price”.

Where do you work?

Across the whole of the United Kingdom. Fabrication is carried out at our own works in Staffordshire and our own team delivers and installs on site nationwide.

What do you make?

Staircases, handrails, balustrades, canopies, steel flooring, fire escapes, walkways, mezzanine floors, stainless with glass, and bespoke one-off metalwork. We also still build specialist machinery.

What are your opening hours?

The works is open Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, and closed at weekends. Email is answered around the clock.

Can I visit?

Yes, during working hours. Call Craig on 01782 561526 first so the right person is free when you arrive.

How long has Tri-Dev been established?

Since 1968. We were formed by three engineers carrying out development work on machinery, and have built into structural and architectural fabrication since.

Do you handle design as well as fabrication?

Yes. We have used in-house CAD for 25+ years. Every design is produced electronically in AutoCAD, in 2D or 3D, and discussed with you as it progresses before final production.

Is your work tested before it reaches site?

Yes. All products are tested and trial-erected in-house as required, before they are ever installed on site.

Are your staff accredited?

All our employees and sub-contractors hold CSCS accreditation, we are CHAS accredited, and workshop and site supervisors monitor safety daily.

Is the steelwork CE or UKCA marked?

Yes. Our work carries CE and UKCA marking, and is fabricated in accordance with the latest regulations and British Standards.

Can you take on bespoke, one-off projects?

Yes. The majority of our projects involve a large amount of custom fabrication, turning your idea into a finished metalwork product.

Do you take on domestic work, or only commercial?

Both. A good proportion of our balustrade and handrail work is domestic.

What welding processes do you offer?

MIG, TIG and MMA welding, plus a dedicated Q-railing service.

Do you work to our drawings?

Yes. If you have drawings we will fabricate to them, and we will flag anything likely to cause a problem before the steel is cut. If you do not have drawings, we produce them in AutoCAD in-house.

Do you still build machinery?

Yes, though it is no longer the main focus. Bespoke machines and handling systems are still built here alongside the fabrication work.

How do I get a quote?

Call Craig on 01782 561526 or 07990 585237, or email craig@tridev.co.uk. A photograph and a rough measurement is usually enough to start.

Nationwide

Steelwork that travels

We are a single-works fabricator that installs the length of the country. That combination is the whole proposition — one team accountable from the first drawing to the last fixing.

Made in one place

Every job is drawn, cut, welded and trial-erected at the same works. There is no second fabricator in the chain and no variation in who did the work.

Delivered by us

Our own transport and our own team, so the steel arrives with people who know how it was built and what it has to meet on site.

Proved before it ships

Assemblies are tested and trial-erected in-house as required. On a job three hundred miles away, that is the difference between a fitting day and a return visit.

Distance changes the planning, not the standard. How we work on national jobs.
